All products are plant based and vegan friendly. Zero Co have also managed to avoid palm oil in all their products except for the dishwasher tablets.
The dispensers are made from ocean plastic waste. The dispenser colours and pouch colors match for each product to give a visual cue of which product goes into which container. Less chance that we accidentally end up washing our hands with toilet cleaner!
It is near impossible to have zero packaging waste for an online delivery. Of course the products come in a box. However it is a recycled cardboard box with some additional scrunched recycled paper inside to protect the product from movement. My box was actually a little damaged on arrival however this didn't bother me. I was actually pleased to see that a lightweight cardboard had been used. Of course all the paper and cardboard can be recycled again.
The return envelope for used pouches is recycled cardboard also. And to be more economical as well as reduce carbon footprint, customers are encouraged to return pouches only once 15 have been collected.
Zero Co's deliveries are also carbon negative! I have never heard of any company doing this before. Instead of simply neutralising the impact of their deliveries, Zero Co removes twice the amount of carbon emissions from the atmosphere that is produced from delivering their product. They do this by partnering with a company that plant trees to revegetate degraded forests. How cool is that?
