Tips for caring for your jewels:
When silver is exposed to air, it reacts to sulphur containing substances in the air in a chemical process known as 'oxidisation'. This causes a thin layer of tarnish on your jewellery and is 100% reversible.
To remove tarnish from your silver jewels, just use your complimentary polishing cloth (which comes with each order) which contains an anti-tarnishing agent.
To minimise the effects of tarnishing, store your jewellery in a dry enclosed place, like in a jewellery box or pouch.
If your jewellery is dirty, you can wash your jewels with soap or a gentle dish-washing detergent and warm water. A really soft toothbrush is also helpful in getting into small crevices in your jewellery to keep it clean. Be careful not to scratch delicate gemstones like pearls with your brush.
From time to time, you may notice a thin layer of tarnish or a dark reddish tinge develop on your jewellery. This is more common in earrings, specifically on earring posts and the parts that are in contact with your skin.
This is a very normal reaction with your skin and the metals in your jewellery and is 100% reversible. Just give your jewels a good clean and use your polishing cloth to shine your piece. You'll see the dark marks begin to rub away and your jewellery will be restored to its original colour.
