Conrad Shops | Where Did They Go?
We regularly get from Conrad the question where our Dutch stores are located. For example, many people search for "Conrad Rotterdam" to find the address of the branch on Coolsingel. We can be brief about it: Conrad Electronic has no physical stores in the Netherlands (anymore). The only shop is the online shop at conrad.nl.
Conrad Berlin
Conrad's history started with a shop in Berlin. Today there are still three physical stores in Berlin and in over twenty other German cities.
The great thing is that if you search Google Images for "Conrad Berlin" or "Conrad Berlin" you will also get many pictures of Conrad Schuman's world famous jump over the barbed wire. At the age of 19, this soldier fled in Bernauer Straße to the free West Berlin.
You can still find photos of this Conrad's jump in many places in Berlin.
Conrad stores the Netherlands
The first Conrad store in the Netherlands is opened in 1985 in Boekelo, Overijssel, also known for the annual Military. Many people, especially in the east, have been there. When we talk to technical people, that store has left an indelible impression! Nostalgia reigns supreme when people talk about the shop in Boekelo.
Ten years later, in 1995, Conrad opens a megastore on the Coolsingel in Rotterdam. That was in one of the busiest shopping streets in Rotterdam. In this Koopgoot (below street level of Coolsingel) the store remained open for four years.
In 1999 the branch on Coolsingel was closed. According to the 1999 Rotterdams Dagblad, this was because "the store did not meet the expectations of Conrad and those of the customers".
Online establishment
The Dutch version of the Conrad website was launched in the same year as the store in Rotterdam was closed. This website conrad.nl was growing rapidly at a time when online shopping was booming. It is also much easier on a website to bring all products to the attention of the customers.
Conrad branches
On January 20, 2006, the Conrad Electronic Store, as it was so beautifully called at the time, closed its doors in Boekelo. After 20 years, the store became too small for the growing range. At the time, there were about 100,000 products available, but of course not all could be in the store.
Attempts were made to open a branch in the Westermaat industrial estate in Hengelo, but that did not work at the time. That is why it was decided to take a modern office building along the A1 in Oldenzaal into use. It also continued as a 100% webshop.
Virtual stores
In 2013, Conrad suddenly returned to the Dutch shopping streets temporarily. Two pop-up stores were opened in two vacant retail properties in Enschede. Large posters were attached to the shop windows with a QR code at two prominent places in the city. When it was scanned, visitors could shop in the online store with a 10% discount. Later, such an empty shop in The Hague was also "moved into".
There are now about 750,000 products available in the webshop and that number is still growing. In recent years, the website has won numerous awards. In Wernberg, South Germany, there is a hypermodern logistics center where 100,000 parcels can be processed every day. Conrad even has their own brands that are only available from them and nowhere else.
All in all, enough reason to make your purchases from the comfort of your home, at home or at the office on conrad.nl and have your order delivered to your home. No travel time, no parking time, no lines at the till. Count out your profit.

Which drill do I need for what?
Drills have many similarities, but each has its own application. For example, drilling a hole in a concrete ceiling will generally not work with a cordless drill. This is a piece of cake with an impact drill. However, you do not want to drive a wood screw with the same hammer drill. The cordless drill is best suited for this.
Which drill do I need?
Electric screwdrivers (battery)
If you need to screw in a lot (by turning a screw), you usually don't want to do this with a 'normal' screwdriver. An electric screwdriver offers a solution here. Screwing is much faster with this machine and is much less physically demanding. We know electric screwdrivers with battery and wired version. Do you only need to climb occasionally? Next, we recommend the wireless screwdriver. Watch out; this device is not powerful enough for actual drilling into the material. So you really have an electric screwdriver for you. drilling machine . Assembling a piece of furniture (the so-called building kits) is the only job you'll ever do.
(Drums) exercises
A (battery) drill is the most used - and most well-known drill. With this tool, you can also carry out light drilling work in addition to screws. Most cordless drills are suitable for drilling into soft materials. Think of wood, metal and plastic or softer stone types, such as bricks or walls made of aerated concrete (also known as aerated concrete or under the Ytong brand). Watch; floors and / or ceilings are usually made of a much harder type of concrete, for which a normal cordless drill is not necessarily suitable.
There are corded drills, but most people today choose a cordless drill.
Are you looking for a 'multipurpose' drill with which you can do the most common work inside and outside the home? So, a drill (battery) is the best choice.
