Once upon a sunny April afternoon a group of friends sat around sharing a tipple. With banter aplenty and creative juices flowing came hatched an idea to catch the flavour of Easter in something that was batched. The Nice AF brand has grown as a collaborative team of close friend… well more like family.
Mixing with fervour we made our first drink. Popped it into a glass with ice, and went down with a blink. From the love of sharing an occasion with mates, family and loved ones Nice AF presents: Buns Bunny, the hot cross bun cocktail.
We have unified our four-favourite seasonal flavours, of Hot Cross Buns, Chocolate, Coffee and Orange. We have extracted the core essence of these flavours and built them into a silky textured liquid libation. With hot cross bun as our corner stone element we then layered subtle chocolate and coffee notes and rounded off our ideal cocktail with the bright and floral aroma of naval orange zest.

Divine perfume encompassing red and blue fruits, florals, talc, forest floor and crushed fresh herbs. Supple and delicate red fruits, including cherry, currants and strawberry compote, meld with Asian 5-spice driving the medium-bodied palate. This is a beautifully expressive wine with flow and grace.
Grapes were de-stemmed into 2T open fermenters followed by a cold maceration period of between 3 and 5 days before the onset of wild fermentation. At the completion of primary fermentation, the grapes were pressed and the wine transferred to French oak barriques and Puncheons (15% new) for natural malo-lactic fermentation. Average skin contact time was 17 days. Barrel maturation was for 9 months.
A highly fragrant wine reminiscent of perfumed talc, lemon verbena, apple blossom, Beurre Bosc pear, lemon sherbet with some mineral and nettle complexity. The palate is expressive, supple, and beautifully textured with bright natural acidity to carry the finish.
This wine has been made with a view to preserving freshness and varietal definition, whilst combining some added complexity through different vinification methods. All grapes were whole bunch pressed, with 90% of the blend being cold settled in stainless steel to achieve a brightly clarified juice before racking and inoculation with QA23 yeast. 10% of the blend was transferred directly to old French oak barriques, complete with solids, where wild yeast were utilised to conduct the ferment. Fermentation temperatures were controlled between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius until dry.
Brewed in cahoots with Liquorland NZ, this juicy, hazy, hop bomb is bursting with brewtiful hop aromas. Mouth-watering citrus, orange and mango flavours leap out of the glass. A downright addictive juicy New England IPA with diminished bitterness. An incredibly approachable style. Get lost in the Brewtiful Haze!
